  • Naehyuck Chang received his BS, MS and PhD degrees all from Seoul National University, in 1989, 1992 and 1996, respectively. He was a research associate at Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1997. He joined Seoul National University in Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering in 1997 as a faculty member and now is a Professor in Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He was also a Visiting Associate Professor at Arizona State University in 2005. He has been with Sindoricoh, Co. Ltd. , as a Technical Advisor since 2001. He has published more than 110 technical papers in low-power and embedded systems area.

    He serves (and served) as Technical Program Committee of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery, Inc.) SIGDA (Special Interest Group on Design Automation) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) Circuits and Systems Society conferences and symposiums such as Design Automation Conference ( DAC ), International Conference and Computer-Aided Design ( ICCAD ), International Symposium on Low-Power Electronics and Design ( ISLPED ), Design Automation and Test in Europe Conference and Exhibition ( DATE ), International Conference on Hardware-Software Codesign and System Synthesis ( CODES+ISSS ), International Symposium on Quality Electronics Design ( ISQED ), ACM Great Lakes Symposium on VLSI ( GLS-VLSI ), International Conference on Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference ( ASP-DAC ) and IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on ASICs (AP-ASIC), and sister workshops such as International Workshop on Power and Timing Modeling, Optimization and Simulation ( PATMOS ), Workshop on Embedded Systems for Real-Time Multimedia ( ESTIMedia ), IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI ( ISVLSI ), International Conference on Microelectronic Systems Education ( MSE ), IEEE International Conference on Computer Design ( ICCD ), IFIP International Conference on Very Large Scale Integration ( VLSI-SoC ), International Conference on Embedded And Ubiquitous Computing ( EUC ), International Conference on Embedded Software and Systems ( ICESS ), International Conference on Design and Test of Integrated Systems ( DTIS ), ACM Symposium On Applied Computing ( SAC ), IEEE Region 10 Conference ( TENCON ), and so on. He also serves as Committee Member of ACM SIGDA PhD Forum, ACM/IEEE ASP-DAC Student Forum, and SIGDA Graduate Scholarship. He serves (served) as the Technical Program (Co-)Chair of The International Conference on Embedded and Real-Time Computing Systems and Applications ( RTCSA ) in 2007, International Symposium on Low-Power Electronics and Design ( ISLPED ) in 2009, Workshop on Embedded Systems for Real-time Multimedia ( ESTIMedia ) in 2009, and International Conference on Hardware-Software Codesign and System Synthesis ( CODES+ISSS ) in 2012. He served as an organizing committee member of AP-ASIC 2004 (Registration Chair), Embedded Systems Week ( CODES+ISSS , EMSOFT and CASES) 2006 (Local arrangement and registration Chair), ASP-DAC 2008 (Student Forum Chair). He is (was) the Technical Program (Co-)Chair of International Symposium on Low-Power Electronics and Design ( ISLPED ) in 2009, International Conference on Hardware-Software Codesign and System Synthesis ( CODES+ISSS ) in 2012. He will serve as the Technical Program Chair of International Conference on Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference ( ASP-DAC ) in 2015, and International Conference on Computer Design ( ICCD ) in 2013. He was the General Vice-Chair of International Symposium on Low-Power Electronics and Design ( ISLPED ) in 2010. He was the General Chair of International Symposium on Low-Power Electronics and Design ( ISLPED ) in 2011 and Symposium on Embedded Systems for Real-Time Multimedia ( ESTIMedia ) in 2011.

    He is (was) an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design on Integrated Circuits and Systems ( TCAD ), IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I ( TCAS-I ), ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems ( TODAES ), ACM Transactions in Embedded Computing Systems ( TECS ), and Springer Design Automation for Embedded Systems ( DAEM ), and editorial board members of Journal of Low-Power Electronics ( JOLPE ) and Journal of Embedded Computing ( JEC ). He is (was) a guest editor of ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems ( TODAES ) and ACM Transactions in Embedded Computing Systems (TECS). He also serves (served) as ACM SIGDA Chair, Chair of ACM SIGDA Low-Power Technical Committee , ASP-DAC SIGDA Representative, and ACM SIGDA Executive Committee (Technical Activity Chair). He also served as ACM SIGDA Liaison for ESWEEK in 2012. He is a ACM Distinguished Scientist (2012) and a Fellow of IEEE.
